Biography

Fatima Sao is a Legal Assistant at Wilson Law Group. Fatima holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Political Economy with a secondary major in African Studies from The Pennsylvania State University.

Fatima’s interest in immigration and international law took root during her undergraduate years, when she researched migration patterns from West Africa to Europe and explored the political and economic forces shaping the ECOWAS region. Immersing herself in questions of mobility, governance, and human dignity sparked a lasting commitment to advancing access to justice for immigrant communities.

Her global perspective is informed by hands-on experience across West Africa. Fatima interned with several governmental and legal institutions in Mauritania and Senegal, including the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company, COS PETROGAZ’s Legal Department, and DLA Piper where she contributed to research on energy governance, regulatory frameworks, and international cooperation. She later expanded her legal experience in the United States, assisting in mass tort litigation in New York and supporting international business outreach with the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of work, Fatima enjoys cooking, creating educational content for her legal platform Legally Sahelian, playing tennis, spending quiet moments immersed in a good book and spending time with family.
